The job in one minute

Every fare has the same clear rhythm. Leave the starting platform, follow the destination guidance to your passenger, settle onto the pickup point, then fly the passenger to the marked drop-off. A delivery only counts when you land safely enough for the handoff to finish.

The difficult part is everything between those two landings. Fuel limits how long you can stay airborne. The landscape narrows your route. Enemies and hazards punish a panicked approach. Your best run usually comes from choosing a clean line early and saving enough fuel for the final descent.

Keyboard and touch controls

On a keyboard, hold W or the Up Arrow to thrust. A and the Left Arrow steer left. D and the Right Arrow steer right. Press Space to throw a rock when rocks are available. P or Escape pauses the flight.

On a phone or tablet, the same four actions appear as LEFT, RIGHT, THRUST and ROCK buttons. Gameplay uses landscape orientation so your hands have room to hold two controls together. Menus still work in portrait. If you rotate during a flight, the game pauses and waits for you to press Resume before anything moves again.

Use short bursts of thrust

Holding thrust for too long creates two problems. You gain more height than the route needs, and you arrive at the next platform with too much vertical speed to remove comfortably. Short, deliberate bursts give you time to read the helicopter and make a correction before the next one.

Steering also changes your momentum. Start turning before you reach the point where you want to travel sideways, then ease off before the landing platform. The helicopter needs room to finish the movement you already asked for. Smooth flights have a simple pattern: rise, lean into the route, level out, then descend with small corrections.

Practice includes a short first-flight lesson with a nearby pickup and return. It teaches rising, steering, gentle landing, pickup and drop-off one action at a time. It is the quickest place to learn the timing without worrying about a busy mission.

A reliable landing routine

Begin the descent while the platform still looks slightly too far away. Line up over the middle, release thrust, and use quick taps only when the helicopter is dropping faster than you want. Try to finish most sideways movement before the skids reach the platform.

If the approach feels wrong, climb away and circle back. A second approach costs fuel, but a rushed landing can cost more. Passenger stops reward patience because boarding and drop-off need a stable touchdown. Watch the guidance, clear nearby danger, and give the handoff a moment to complete.

A calm approach gives the passenger handoff time to complete.
  • Approach from above the platform rather than from below its edge.
  • Reduce sideways speed before the final descent.
  • Use taps of thrust instead of one long rescue burst.
  • Abort early when the angle is poor.

Fuel, hull and rocks

Fuel is a route-planning resource. A direct line may be dangerous, while a wide detour can leave you short near the destination. Look for the safer path that still keeps the journey compact. Difficulty changes how forgiving the helicopter and mission pressures feel, so there is no shame in learning a new biome on Easy before moving up.

Your hull can survive mistakes, but repeated collisions turn a manageable trip into a scramble. Rocks give you a way to deal with threats before committing to a landing. Use them with a clear target in mind. Throwing every rock at the first danger can leave the pickup or destination exposed later.

Campaign, Daily, Endless and Practice

Campaign is the long route through Caveman Taxi. It contains 160 missions across five prehistoric biomes, with regular missions followed by a Master set. Stars record how well you handled each job and let you replay routes as your flying improves.

Daily gives everyone a dated challenge drawn from the current biome rotation. Endless keeps producing shifts and is the best place to chase a longer run. Practice is a low-pressure space for the tutorial and control work. Your progress is saved in the browser, so the same device and browser can carry on where you stopped.

A good plan for your first few flights

Start in Practice and finish the short lesson. Next, play the opening Campaign missions until you can land without a last-second burst. Then try a Daily shift. Daily routes are more enjoyable once the basic control rhythm lives in your hands.

When a mission goes badly, pick one thing to improve on the retry. Choose an earlier turn, a lower cruise height or a calmer landing. Caveman Taxi becomes much easier when each attempt has one clear adjustment instead of five desperate ones.

THE TAKEAWAY

Fly in short bursts, remove sideways speed before landing, and leave enough fuel to choose a second approach. Calm deliveries build better runs than fast recoveries.
